Peak Toolworks is Hiring a Supply Chain Manager Near Jasper, IN

The Global Supply Chain Leader coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company’s goods. Coordinate with minimal supervision all activities encompassing the procurement and inventory processes, ERP transaction requirements, and the relationships which exists between Peak Toolworks and its supply base. Be consistent with all appropriate legal and regulatory requirements while keeping with the highest ethical standards. Ensure that all transactional activity is compliant with the terms and conditions of the appropriate contract and/or company process. Ensure that the behavior of the supply chain personnel is consistent with the overarching requirements of all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Provide Lean Manufacturing Support expertise to the Supply Chain segment of Peak Toolworks and to its supply base. Provide support for training initiatives as well as continuous improvement. Unify processes across North America, ensuring best practices are employed. Essential Functions Review significant contracts, frame agreements for compliance Coordinate Cost Reduction and Cost Avoidance activities for all divisions Collaborates with all departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain, including suppliers’ performance Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the Service Centers, recommends appropriate strategic inventory items and levels for company growth Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution, lead sourcing initiatives Assesses the need for material-handling equipment, storage. and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers and/or shipping companies. Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments Manages company Cycle Count process to ensure acceptable inventory count accuracy to target performance levels Coordinate and oversee physical inventories; schedule, reconcile, and present action plans as applicable to drive continuous improvement and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and control of processes Performs other related duties as assigned. Builds rapport with customers and other Service Center Managers Customer Focus – Establish and maintains effective customer relationships, identifies opportunities and shares them with Regional Sales Representatives (RSR) and Service Sales Representatives (SSR) Lean Manufacturing Principles – Continuous review of processes and operations utilizing lean principles to improve service center performance, inventory management, and profitability. Performance Management and Success in the Role The output of the Global Supply Chain Leader will be linked to the corporate goals of EBITDA, Cash Conversions Cycle, and On-Time Shipments, but will also include the ability to connect with suppliers, internal and external customers, understand the business, and manage supply chain costs. Success in the role will be measured in part to these metrics as well as individual behaviors including: Depth of Thought, Ability to Drive for Results, Ability to work with and through others (People), and Self Knowledge, understanding personal strengths and weaknesses. Supervisory Responsibility This position will oversee all employees within the supply chain in the US and Canada Work Environment Manufacturing & Office Environment Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
