POSITION: Itinerant EC Preschool Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS: Birth- Kindergarten

REPORTS TO: Director of Exceptional Children and Preschool Coordinator

JOB GOAL: To provide quality early childhood instruction to identified exceptional children.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children
• Develop and implement individualized education plans for eligible students
• Monitor student progress on a continuous basis
• Employs a variety of teaching methods to meet student needs
• Maintains records and complies with laws, rules, and regulations as established in the NC Rules and Regulations Governing Children with Special Needs
• Implement NC Foundations- Early Learning Standards
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Provides consultation with childcare providers, Pre-K teachers, regarding student’s specialized needs
• Assist with Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment team and referrals as assigned
• Travel from different locations to provide onsite services
• Other duties as assigned

MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months

SALARY: NC State Teacher Salary Scale, with local supplement

EVALUATION:Annually, Instrument To Be Determined
