What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hybrid Service Technician position at Pearson Pool Co.?
- General Overview –Get your weekends back! Come Join the team at Pearson Pool Company! Hybrid Service Technicians spend part of their time cleaning and maintaining swimming pools and part of their time working on new swimming pool construction and pool repairs and generally only work Monday-Friday, unless otherwise required as a result of operational needs.
- Essential Functions – The following is a non-exhaustive list of the essential functions of the Hybrid Service Technician position.
Pool Cleaning:
-Clean debris from baskets and pool surface
-Maintain proper water chemistry
-Brush pool walls and floor
-Filter cleanings when instructed
-Report issues or concerns to the office manager
Pool Construction:
-Work with the construction foreman on varying phases of building swimming pools including but not limited to, setting grade, excavation, digging trenches, plumbing pool equipment, rebar installation, setting/stripping concrete forms, pouring concrete, electrical wiring, tile setting and other pool construction functions.
Pool Repairs:
-Work with the operations manager to make varying repairs on swimming pool equipment including but not limited to Pump replacement, Heater repairs/replacement, minor plumbing repairs, cleaner repairs/replacements, filters repairs/replacements, pool light replacement, pool programing and other repairs on swimming pools.
- Additional Duties and Responsibilities – Employees are often required to perform duties and responsibilities in addition to those set forth in the essential functions, including, but not limited to the following, as well as additional duties as assigned by Pearson Pools:
- General labor, lifting, digging, cleaning, etc.
- Forklift operation.
- Equipment operation.
- Making deliveries.
- Physical Requirements – The following is a non-exhaustive list of physical requirements that are frequently performed in this position, which are subject to change based on the operational needs of Pearson Pools and each job assignment.

- Typical Work Hours / Schedule - Full time, Monday – Friday, with occasional weekends, depending on operational needs.
- Travel – Each workday will either begin at Pearson Pools’ Office or at the customer’s location, as assigned by Pearson Pools. Employee is responsible for providing their own transportation to/from the assigned worksite location at the scheduled start time every workday, and at the end of each workday.
- Required (or Preferred) Education, Licensing and Experience –
The employee must have a valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance or insurability under Company’s insurance policy, unless the use of alternate transportation is determined by Pearson Pools to be comparable in terms of travel time and cost to the Company.
- Compensation – The following is a general explanation of the compensation for this position:
- Non-Exempt classification.
- Base Hourly Rate: $18 per hour.
- Company benefit programs, including Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance coverage.
