PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals! This specific role will be supporting our Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Clinic in our Fairfax, VA location and is Full-Time.
Licensed Practical Nurse in Virginia. Must pass Division of Nursing & Patient Services LPN Medication Administration test. Ability to perform technical functions interacts with children and families and has good verbal and written communication skills.
Pediatric Specialists of Virginia (PSV) Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine pediatric surgeons work closely with a comprehensive medical team specialized in the treatment of infants, children, and teens with muscle, skeletal, and bone conditions and injuries.

Job Description
• Analyzes assessment data gathered from patient and family to ensure completion of database and plan of care within identified timeframes
• Role models excellent clinical skills with complex patients. Care reflects analysis of patient status and appropriate interventions
• Accurately takes TPR, BP, height & weight, head circumference, and intake and output measurements according to procedure.
• Recognizes basic changes in child such as: apnea, wheezing, retractions, changes in behavior or LOC, seizure activity, skin lesions, and poor tissue perfusion
• Follows physician's orders and nursing directives precisely.
• Performs basic nursing care which may include bath, personal hygiene, dressing, linen change, positioning, assisting in the use of bedpan, urinal, diaper change, and ambulation or holding.
• Directs prioritization and organization for complex patients. Care reflects analysis of patient status and appropriate interventions
• Documentation exemplifies adherence to the highest standards of practice
• Anticipates and proactively plans for educational needs verified with patient and family throughout the hospital/outpatient stay and prior to discharge
• Excels in organizational skills, adjusts for changes and is able to complete assignments on time
• Role Models caring in all encounters with patient and family as evidenced by feedback from parents and an increase in patient satisfaction scores.
Minimum Qualifications Required
• HS Diploma, GED or equivalent in addition to completion of a 1-year (minimum length) vocational/technical training program in a related field
• 1 year to 2 years of related experience
• All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam
• Licenses Practical Nurse currently licensed in Virginia dependent upon location of practice
• Current CPR certification
