PEDIATRIC THERAPY CENTER is Hiring a Medical Office Specialist Near Houston, TX

Medical Office Specialist

Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Office Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in administrative tasks, familiarity with insurance and other office systems, and a background in a medical setting.

Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties to support the efficient operation of the office.
- Check in patients.
- Collect patient payments and maintain collection sheets.
- Receive new intakes for patients and interoffice referrals.
- Verify insurance benefits for new and current patients and contact parents to explain insurance benefits.
- Request and update patient scripts from referring doctors.
- Order supplies for the office and therapists.
- Maintain new patient spreadsheet monthly.
- Handle front desk responsibilities including greeting patients and answering phones.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in a medical setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Experience as a medical receptionist.
- Familiarity with Excel Spreadsheets.
- Understanding of clinic workflows and procedures.
