Public Health Advisor/Health Communicator

We are seeking a Public Health Advisor/Health Communicator that have experience supporting the federal government, commercial, and non-governmental organizations. General Duties:

  1. Project Planning and Implementation
  • Provide technical assistance regarding project planning activities (such as DEIA), development of SOPs, and reports.
  • Plan and implement requirements for projects. Provide project plan, planning documentation, and project reports.
  • Assess current processes and procedures, recommend, and implement improvements where needed. Provide current state/future state assessments, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Analyze and communicate project requirements to CDC leadership
  • Experience with polling and surveying, both live polling and mixed methods surveying.
  1. Project Evaluation and Reporting
  • Collect, analyze, and report project data to CDC leadership staff to include:
    • Process flows and guidance for data collection, data summaries, project dashboard, and project
    • Providing business process improvement support and creating summaries of program performance, project profiles, and other customized communication.
    • Meeting internal and external reporting requirements – deliverables will include process flows and guidance for data collection, summaries of guidance, project profiles, and other customized communications.
  1. Communication
  • Develop, package, and implement internal and external messaging approaches, through a variety of communication mediums including email, web content, fact sheets, and presentations based on general guidance provided by the government.
  • Present findings to various boards, councils, etc. on outcomes of analysis and evaluations through the production of summaries of information, 1-pagers, project updates, and customized communications in requested format using CDC tools, platforms, and systems.
  • Develop documents such as white papers and one-pagers.
  • Participate in and at times engage in resultant meetings, record meeting notes, and follow up on items needed.
  • Provide facilitation and administrative support for meetings, trainings, and events (i.e., orientation).
  1. Business Process Improvement and System Enhancement
  • Review and offer recommendations regarding administrative directives and policies, EO and OCOO systems and processes and best practices for operationalization.
  • Gather system and process requirements, develop implementation plans, recommend, and execute process and system enhancements.
  • Strong understanding and use of MS Teams, troubleshooting in MS Teams, and use of Zoom.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices.
  • Ability to perform basic descriptive statistics and interpret results.
    • Qualitatively, this position will require the ability to ascertain trends, group feedback into domains, and overall provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office products.
  • Well versed in Zoom, surveying products & software is a bonus (Microsoft forms, poll everywhere, menti, zoom polling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in the areas of public health promotion and prevention
  • Master’s Degree in public health, social science, or health services research
  • Public Trust clearance required
  • Background investigation required
