This position will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of all public interior spaces, such as community rooms, hallways, stairways, elevators, public restrooms, lobbies, and office spaces, to include:

• Vacuums carpeting and mops floors.
• Sweeps and clears entrance spaces daily.
• Dusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in the schedule.
• Disinfects and cleans public restrooms, door handles, desks, etc.
• Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule.
• Refills paper towels, tissue, toilet paper and hand soap in all dispensers.
• Empty recycling containers
• Light maintenance of common areas
• Reports the following to the Maintenance Supervisor: any safety and health concerns; presence of animals, vermin or insects; needed cleaning supplies; equipment repairs; and building repairs (e.g. water leaks, light bulbs)
• Snow removal and lawn care maintenance, as needed
• Other duties, as assigned

This position is also responsible for preparing vacant units for move-in by new residents. It is expected that issues be reported to the Maintenance Supervisor for items that require repair, maintenance, or safety hazards (vermin, damaged flooring, etc.)

Required Skills and Experience: To be considered for this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• 2 years of grounds and/or housekeeping experience
• 2 years of direct customer service experience with residents or other clients
• Professionalism with coworkers and residents while working in and around apartment complex

Additional knowledge/experience:

• Computer skills for completing and recording work order information
• Superb written and verbal skills
• Recent Fair Housing and industry training

Physical Characteristics

The position requires the following:

• 100% physical activity, such as safe operation of heavy lawn care equipment, hand tools, vacuuming, mopping, bending, lifting, climbing stairs, etc.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable for company vehicles
• Standard vision, with or without corrective eyewear.
• Standard hearing, with or without a hearing aid.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds daily
