PEG has partnered with one of the fastest-growing companies in the St. Louis region to find a talented Controller to join their team. This role is crucial for overseeing all accounting and financial activities within the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting, including budgeting, job cost accounting, payroll, cash flow management, project compliance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Lead a small accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Monitor cash and funding balances.
• Track project financial performance and identify variances from budgeted targets.
• File monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales tax returns.
• Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecast processes.
• Complete annual 1099s.
• Maintain internal accounting controls and project financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A passion for driving results and positively influencing company culture.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, with strong Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage software is preferred.
