PEMHS is Hiring a Crisis Line Specialist Near Pinellas Park, FL

SHIFT:

4:00PM - 12:00AM

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for answering phones in Access Center and directing them to the appropriate department or person. Answers and responds to calls that come through on the NSPL and supported crisis lines, Behavioral health lines, and standard business lines. Entering referrals made from local hospitals and distributing to the nurses for review. Documents in iCarol each phone call and identifying information. Answers door in Access Center to clients and police and collects client’s property. Tracks census information internally and externally at beginning and end of shift. Helps ACAS prepare charts, assists with taking clients to the restroom and performing body examinations and inventory if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school graduate with the ability to use office equipment including computers. Organizational and attention to detail skills required. Must be able to multi-task and follow through with tasks. Applies positive customer service skills when dealing with both internal and external customers. Must be able to speak clearly and with proper English on the phone. Preferred knowledge base of 6 months mental health experience and community programs awareness.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to communicate well orally and in writing. Ability to sit at desk for long periods, open door for clients and police. Ability to perform techniques taught in NAPPI training. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to clients and emergency program conditions; possible violent or verbally abusive situations. Possible heavy workloads under high stress. Potential for irregular hours.
