Job Description

Provides, prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care withother health care providers to meet holistic needs of patients inaccordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of PenderCommunity Hospital.

  • Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care,to assess, plan intervene and evaluate patient care to achieveprioritized patient outcomes.
  • Assists provider during clinic in accordance with RN scope ofpractice, collects and prepares specimens for lab tests, maintainsinstruments/equipment, preps patients for procedures.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provideservice/care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Secures and returns supplies, maintains room stock and practicessterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
  • Communicates effectively with team members while ensuring alldocumentation is maintained and accurate in each patient record.Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of administeringmedications, treatments, procedures according to physicianorders/nursing policy in a timely manner and maintains good timemanagement, flexibility and positively adapts to healthcare demands.
  • Participate in activities to support quality patient care at allclinic locations and performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: Vary, as needed; Monday-Friday 7:45am-5:00pm, Saturday 7:45am-12:00pm

Experience and Skills

Education, Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Effective knowledge and familiarity with word processing, computernavigation, and e-mail
  • A minimum of one to two years nursing experience preferred
  • Prior rural clinic experience preferred

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraskaor multi state licensure in a nurse licensure compact state
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
