The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program is transforming security operations at the University of Pennsylvania. The mission of Penn’s IAM program is to implement a modern IAM system, providing Penn’s users with simplified, secure access to the University’s vast array of electronic resources and services. The Information Technology Architect position will be a key contributor to our implementation of the SailPoint IIQ product suite as our chosen identity governance and administration (IGA) tool.
IAM services are critical to the University and have a challenging set of availability, usability, and security demands. The IAM Architect must help analyze and balance those requirements and be a technical lead in our implementation of IAM Program goals in the identity governance and administration (IGA) product. The role includes strategic planning and implementation of new features and resolutions in the IGA product and representation of the IAM Program to campus.
Act as lead technical subject matter expert (SME) for Access management as it pertains to current operation and integration of IAM technologies as part of the IAM Program at Penn with a focus on the SailPoint IIQ product suite.
This role is critical to partner with Information Security to develop new security capabilities; be responsive to the needs of clients; be a champion of access management service needs within Technology Services; and develop approaches to continually improve the IAM group's efficiency, reliability, innovation, and teamwork.
Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities:IT Architect:Planning / Evaluating:
  • Coordinate and plan SailPoint deployments with the IAM Program leadership team.
  • Develop auditing / reporting practices for user account lifecycle.
  • Evaluate new SailPoint releases, security and defect patches. Provide actionable plan, remediation strategy, and risk assessment.
Technical:
  • Complete current state analysis of SailPoint implementation: provide actionable feedback.
  • Maintain java code base for all SailPoint implementation efforts.
  • Develop and deploy new features in the University SailPoint product.
  • Develop automation in testing, deployment, and configuration management as it relates to the IAM Program.
Outreach And Communication:
  • Coordinate with information technology service ownership / management to develop requirements / design of SailPoint integrations.
  • Provide guidance to team members of the IAM Program.
Senior IT Architect :Planning / Evaluating:
  • Coordinate and plan SailPoint deployments with the IAM Program leadership team.
  • Manage a feature backlog / integration schedule for SailPoint implementation.
  • Analyze cost/benefit of feature list and prioritize.
  • Develop auditing / reporting practices for user account lifecycle.
  • Evaluate new SailPoint releases, security and defect patches. Provide actionable plan, remediation strategy, and risk assessment.
Outreach And Communication:
  • Develop operating procedure for onboarding new applications to SailPoint.
  • Provide guidance to team members of the IAM Program.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact with SailPoint support and external consultants.
  • Deliver presentations to the broader University community on the benefits of SailPoint functions.
Qualifications:IT ArchitectEducation:Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer preferred.
Required:SailPoint Qualifications:
  • 3 years experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ.
  • Java programmer and well versed with SailPoint Java API.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Identity and Access Management technologies and functions.
Technology Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Identity & Access Management governance including role-based access control, access request, and certification.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools including Agile and GIT.
  • Experience with multiple testing standards and approaches (e.g. unit, integration, user acceptance).
Non-Technology Qualifications:
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to operate both independently and as a team member.
  • Good oral, listening and written communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Ability to break down complex problems into smaller tasks and decisions.
  • Knowledge of SAML, LDAP, SSL.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools including Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, and Splunk.
