The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the plan for the perioperative patient. Another vital function of the RN is to serve as a patient advocate during times of vulnerability by utilizing required nursing critical thinking skills, and practical experience regarding the care of the OR patient.

Minimum Qualifications for a Registered Nurse (RN):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) by state of employment
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
• 1 year of previous Operating Room RN experience, required

Preferred Qualifications for a Registered Nurse (RN):

• 2-5 years of previous Operating Room RN experience
• BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse
• Compact Licenses

Any requirements for monthly on-call or weekend rotations will be discussed during the interview process.

The operating room suites consist of 35 operating rooms and 4 procedure rooms, where approximately 30,000 surgeries are performed annually, including but not limited to general, vascular, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, orthopedic, ENT, transplantation, gynecology, urology, plastic and reconstructive, and pediatric surgeries of all kinds.
