  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

DescriptionPennsylvania Counseling Services (PCS) is looking for someone passionate about providing case management services to clients in the recovery and reentry processes. This position will cover Schuylkill and Berks county, but home clinic is located in Pottsville.
In this position you will:

  • Provide case management services for clients in the prison system, involved with probation/parole, or whom had prior involvement with the criminal justice system
  • Work with clients with substance use history
  • Establish relationships with community agencies, drug and alcohol treatment providers, and mental health treatment providers
  • Facilitate outreach and engagement through existing programming, partnerships with community agencies, hospitals/health care providers, law enforcement, and government agencies
  • Schedule appointments with clients and conduct intake/assessments and startup documentation
  • Engage in community wide harm reduction programming to provide overdose reversal education and training services
  • Facilitate weekly psycho-education groups on life-skills, self-care, and other relevant topics
  • Communicate with clients in accordance with motivational interviewing and other designated evidence based procedures

A successful applicant will:

  • Understand that overcoming addiction is a multifaceted and individual process
  • Have a history of or a passion for working with those with substance use disorders
  • Be comfortable working in a correctional facility
  • Maintain a compassionate yet boundaried approach to a high needs population
  • Be organized and detail oriented
  • Able to work independently
  • Need to demonstrate flexibility
  • Be open to feedback and guidance from leadership staff

This position is a grant funded position. If the grant would end we would offer you additional positions within PCS if applicable. EOE.

Pay $18/hour $100 biweekly stipend

Working Hours Monday - Thursday 8:00am-6:00pm after 10 week start up
