Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 cyber charter school with a substantial number of students. Our teachers are part of an educational team whose innovative approach to education is providing a dynamic learning experience for students across the state of Pennsylvania through cyber education. All teachers report to work throughout our various locations in Pennsylvania.

Summary:

The Daily Substitute will provide day to day Teacher coverage due to full-time Teacher absence with a focus on the academic achievement of our students. Teachers report to their assigned school location on a daily basis to perform the essential functions of the position.

Essential Duties:

• Communicate with students and parents

• Conduct live class sessions and office hours

• Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Principal

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelors Degree required, Instructional I Educational Certification, preferred*

• Instructional II Educational Certification, a plus

• Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures

• Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.

• Good team player and very reliable in working without close supervision

• Proficient Technology Skills: Microsoft Office, Email, Google Drive, Web-based Data Programs

• Not required, but a plus - Experience with Moodle and educational technology resources

*PALCS is allowed to hire a limited number of non certified teachers. If the selected applicant does not have a level I or level II certificate at the time of hire, then the applicant must register for a Non-Certified Educator Designation before serving as a substitute teacher.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

• Physical Demands: Walking, sitting, standing, lifting weight, stooping, bending, grasping, writing, keyboarding, communicating, working inside and outside, travel.

• Mental: Positive Attitude. Drive and Determination.

• Environmental: Normal school environment
