Veterinary Healthcare Associates is a veterinarian owned small animal practice that encourages a self-directed and entrepreneurial work environment. For over 30 years, VHA has proudly served the Central Florida community by delivering outstanding patient care and unmatched client service. Our practice offers a diverse and challenging caseload and the tools and equipment to manage them. Our fast-growing, progressive, AAHA accredited 10 doctor emergency, specialty referral, and primary care practice. Our team has a place for everyone - full-time and part-time.

Veterinary Emergency Assistant Responsibilities:

The Emergency Veterinary Assistant has the ability to be a team player, multitask, quickly prioritize, problem solve, and handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive outlook. As part of the team you are expected to provide the highest level of care by supporting the Technician and Doctor team and being the patient’s advocate with regard to pain management and quality of care. Excellent written and oral communication, basic math skills and computer literacy is a must along with a dedication to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

• An innovator with a lifelong hunger for learning and development.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVA) desirable but not required.
• Previous On-The-Job Emergency / Critical Care experience is desirable when not a CVA.
• Minimum one-year experience as veterinary assistant preferred.
