Out Client is looking for a General Earthwork Superintendent to join our team. The General Utility Superintendent is responsible for overseeing multiple utility crews, directing project activities and supervising field personnel to successfully complete projects according to schedule. This includes maintaining project quality, supervising on-site trade and field personnel, and administering good construction safety practices for all on-site activities.

• Lead multiple earthwork crews, according to project plans, in all aspects of work.
• Ensure that all assigned work progresses on schedule.
• Clearly communicate expectations and responsibilities to crew foreman.
• Promote a safe work culture by ensuring that all crew members maintain safe working conditions according to OSHA and company regulations.
• Oversee work schedule for crews.
• Complete feedback sessions for new superintendents within their first 90 days of employment according to the Company's Employee Review Program.
• Complete six-month and annual reviews for earthwork superintendents.
• Proactively anticipate scheduling needs and potential issues three weeks in advance.
• Communicate with upper management on a regular basis on potential scope gaps and other job site needs.
• Prepare and submit required daily reports and paperwork.
• Maintain QE's image and positive relationship with the community through site cleanliness.
• Proactively control job costs.
• Promote environmental responsibility at the jobsite and among crew members.

Position Competencies

• Proficient in all aspects of earthwork, mass excavation, detailed excavation, and material management.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills; ability to manage personnel and equipment efficiently.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills including assigning, scheduling, directing and inspecting work; rewarding or discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts on large and complex projects.
• Effective planning and problem-solving skills.
• Competent in reading and understanding civil construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven and effective experience with scheduling, ordering, field supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting of all phases of civil construction.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and standards.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual a plus.

Education, Experience, Licenses, And Certifications

• Combined education and experience required:
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or similar field along with five (5) years of experience in the field of major heavy highway or bridge construction including at least three (3) years of experience as a foreman or superintendent, or
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with ten (10) years of experience in the field of major heavy highway or bridge construction including at least three (3) years of experience as a foreman or superintendent, or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with project management and/or construction software.
• Proficient in O365 and Adobe Acrobat.
• Valid Florida class E driver license with acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• This position will require prolonged periods of time working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
