**Certified Peer Support Specialist**

We are seeking a full-time Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide a non-clinical approach that helps clients discover their strengths and develop their own unique recovery goals at our intensive outpatient program.

**Hours:** 12:00pm-8:00pm Monday-Friday

**Location:** Huss Center for Recovery-This position will support both our Residential & Intensive Outpatient Programs in Minneapolis, MN

**Required Qualifications:**

* High School diploma or GED and minimum of 21 years of age

* Primary diagnosis of mental illness

* Current or former consumer of mental health services

* Current and valid Minnesota Driver's License and auto insurance with a clean driving record

* Completion of Certification as a Certified Peer Specialist

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Experience working with people who have serious and persistent mental illness, chemical dependency, seizures, epilepsy, and/or other high barriers to services

**Main Job Duties:**

* Actively participating in all team meetings and promoting a recovery perspective as a key component of all discussions with all members of the team

* Supporting our consumers with skill development training in socialization, problem solving, self-awareness, and awareness of others

* Facilitating the development of recovery skills including mental / chemical health management

* Demonstrating cultural sensitivity and competence relevant to the needs of the recipients in recovery

* Providing instruction, modeling and feedback in the area of supportive living skills
