People Resource Center is Hiring a Part-time Parking Lot Attendant Near Milton, IL

PRC is hiring a Parking Lot Attendant to ensure that clients, staff, volunteers, and guests of PRC are following PRC guidelines regarding parking lot usage. The Parking Lot Attendant will provide a high level of customer service and will work primarily during food distribution hours. The Parking Lot Attendant will work 21-24 hours/week, based on pantry schedules, including one evening and one Saturday morning each week. This position will be working at our Wheaton location and the work schedule is:
  • Tuesday – 7:00 am - 11:30 am
  • Wednesday – 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Thursday – 7:00 am - 1:30 pm
  • Saturday – 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Additional hours as needed for meetings and trainings

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Welcome and direct parties to appropriate parking areas
  • Maintain a smooth and efficient flow of traffic based on parking availability 
  • Maintain a safe, secure and clean parking area
  • Maintain ice- and snow-free walkways and sidewalks when applicable
  • Monitor and redirect all unauthorized parking in neighboring parking areas
  • Assist clients and guests as time permits
  • Adhere to all safety requirements of safety garments and equipment as applicable
  • Foster positive relationships with donors, clients, and volunteers
  • Assist with food rescue efforts for the food pantry, as needed
  • Provide back-up to other pantry staff as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • High School diploma or equivalent credentials
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a similar role
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
  • Commitment to PRC’s mission, values, and community focus
  • Enjoys working in a not-for-profit social service organization
  • Maintain high standard of excellent customer service
  • Able to exercise good judgment to resolve problems
  • Able to work effectively with people from other countries and people speaking other languages
  • Able to work under pressure
