Description: GREAT Work Environment, Paid Time Off, and a 20% Staff Discount! People's Food Co-op is looking to fill one (1) full-time position to work Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 4pm. We pay $17.00 per hour

Job Summary:

Perform a variety of baking duties and assist with the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, and other pastries. We bake our delicious items from scratch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities

a. Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls and/or other baked goods, including icing and frostings, according to

established recipes.

b. Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.

c. Knowledge of care of culinary equipment, supplies, and materials.

d. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.

General Responsibilities

a. Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and

equipment needed for daily baking activities.

b. Spread or sprinkles a range of various toppings on specialty bakes items.

c. Shape dough for cookies, pies, and other pastries either by hand or by using dough rollers and cookie cutters.

d. Cut and weighs dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in

pans; inspects product for quality during and after baking and makes adjustments to processes as required.

e. Detect and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies and/or other unusual conditions.

f. Clean and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment.

g. Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus.

h. Operate with a sense of teamwork.

i. Report to work for scheduled shifts on-time.

j. Understand and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.

k. Accept direction willingly and follows through with delegated tasks.

l. Perform tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department manager

m. Maintain a safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.

Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are those that an employee must meet, with or without reasonable accommodation, to

successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Ability to use computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, telephone, and various office equipment continuously.

2. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently.

3. Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.

4. Ability to stand or walk for duration of shift.

5. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladder.

6. Ability to reach above shoulder height frequently.

7. Ability to talk and hear to communicate with customers.

8. Finger and hand dexterity with ability to grasp and hold items of different sizes.

9. Vision ability – close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.

10. Ability to read register screen and product and shelf labels.
