The PEOPLEASE Group (TPG) is looking for a qualified Senior Financial Data Analyst for Work Comp Claims to join our team. The Senior Financial Data Analyst for WC Claims is responsible for providing the claims data analytics for workers compensation insurance across our enterprise. This role will serve as a key contributor to the PEOPLEASE Risk Management team. Primary duties include ongoing account maintenance and reconciliation, publication of financial reports, claims loss projections, departmental budget planning and reconciliation, providing claim and financial data to actuaries, and completing various regulatory filings for self-insurance.
An ideal candidate will have the ability to manage and execute the coordination of multiple projects within required timeframes and expectations; demonstrated excellence in communication skills; be able to inform both orally and in writing; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrate the ability to perform detail-oriented tasks; interact, coordinate, follow up, and effectively communicate with all other team members, regional teams, Senior Management, and Third-Party Administrators.
Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to function as a remote employee in a distributed work team.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Assemble and distribute Risk Management reporting for Workers Compensation Claims.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve existing report design and methodology.
  • Build new financial and operational reports leveraging internal data warehouse environment.
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for internal management.
  • Track monthly variances against budget and work with leadership to understand key drivers.
  • Forecast monthly and annual claims frequency and severity metrics.
  • Support the decision-making process by delivering accurate and timely data, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Accounting/Finance on monthly results and related analysis, along with invoice tracking and payment activities for external vendors.
  • Reconciliation of casualty claim reserve and payment activity, retained liability reserve management and adjustment analysis.
  • Budgetary forecast and submission for Annual Operating Plan, reconciliation, variance analysis and reforecast.
  • Support actuarial processes via preparation of data requests, fulfillment of exposure requirements and interpretation of results.
  • Supports the Risk Management department as needed on risk-related projects.
  • Maintaining analysis, reconciliation and adjustment of the various reports and accounts that represent key inputs to the retained liability reserve.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology and other enterprise-wide teams on Risk Management related matters.
  • Ad hoc projects and other duties assigned by Director of Claims and/or SVP of Risk Management.
  • Additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. MBA preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years experience with data modeling, management reporting systems and computer applications. Strong Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, formula writing, macros, etc.). Microsoft Power BI experience preferred.
  • Experience with actuarial methodologies.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the development and application of financial, analytical and budgetary techniques, including statistical analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interpret results, understand implications and communicate to internal stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously leveraging excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong strategic, technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment.
