Scope of Position

Plant Human Resources Managers play a crucial role in overseeing various HR functions within the plant, including retention, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training, payroll, compensation, safety, and benefits. They are responsible for developing and administering HR policies and procedures, maintaining and updating employee records, generating various reports, and providing employee coaching on work-related matters. This position requires a strong relationship with the Plant Manager and Plant Leadership team, understanding business issues, and providing solutions that advance the business's interests.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies and procedures.
  • Manage recruitment, selection, and retention of plant employees, ensuring staffing levels meet budget requirements.
  • Process weekly plant payroll and administer the attendance policy.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, benefits, practices, procedures, programs, and applicable laws.
  • Investigate and administer workers' compensation claims, maintain records, and work with Corporate EH&S on case management.
  • Maintain records and compile reports on personnel data, such as hires, turnover, employee programs, performance appraisals, wage progression, and absenteeism rates.
  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Plan and coordinate new employee onboarding to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee and leadership training and development, including safety programs.
  • Plan and organize company events, such as luncheons, picnics, and recognition events.
  • Serve as the liaison between management and employees, handling questions and resolving employee-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Plant Leadership on employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary actions to comply with company policies.
  • Act as the Plant Safety Coordinator, managing all plant safety programs and training, and maintaining the first aid room.
  • Coordinate with temporary labor agencies to schedule workers, process pay records, review and approve invoices, and address temporary worker issues as required.
  • Undertake special projects related to other functional areas and additional related duties as assigned.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree and/or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR Manager experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
