Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma is Hiring an Environmental (Intern) Near Miami, OK
Applicants must be of Native American ancestry to be considered for this position and be able to show proof of a federally recognized CDIB card, per grant requirements. Position Purpose: This is a work experience, summer youth seasonal position. They will work as an assistant to the Environmental Department staff. Must be Native American to qualify for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning ponds at fish hatchery and other related tasks.
Willingness to learn new things, and how to use equipment if necessary.
Motivated, self-starter, able to carry out required tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Punctual, and maintains good attendance.
Maintain appropriate files and records accurately.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. College hours with a strong emphasis on science are desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable worker.
Punctual.
Willingness to learn.
Self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision or constant monitoring.
Great interpersonal skills.

Work Requirements: Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.
