Job Description:
As the Automotive Assistant Service Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our service department. You will assist the Service Manager in overseeing daily activities, managing service advisors and technicians, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include coordinating service schedules, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining a productive and harmonious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers and assist with service inquiries and scheduling.
- Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect the company’s commitment to excellent service.
Operational Management:
- Assist the Service Manager in daily operations, including workflow management and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to ensure timely and accurate completion of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor service department performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.
Staff Supervision:
- Support the training and development of service department staff.
- Assist in conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to team members.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of service transactions and customer interactions.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering parts and supplies as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Sales Support:
- Assist in identifying opportunities for additional service sales and upselling.
- Work with the sales team to support service-related sales initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or business management preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an automotive service environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the automotive industry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency with automotive service management software and tools.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance processes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
