Responsibilities Peraton Labs is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our high performing team. Must be able to work onsite five days a week. Network Engineers provide network management and support to existing Peraton projects. They design and plan network communications systems and are responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Network Engineers plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. They also advise network users on hardware requirements, configurations, limitations, and maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, bridges, gateways, etc. What You'll Do: * Provide for the design, engineering, technical documentation, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and repair of network systems (routing, switching, firewall, etc.) in a development environment.
* Monitor the networks using approved network management tools for system outages as well as the network for bottlenecks in performance; recommends improvements to management.
* Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring professional and effective interactions and communications.
* Explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
* Be comfortable working individually or in small teams and on several projects.
* Configure and document all network assets in a development environment.
* Implement required hardware and software upgrades and repairs to maintain mission capability.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues.Qualifications Required Qualifications: * 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree.
* Able to read and understand a network infrastructure diagram.
* Linux/Command Line Terminal familiarity with scripting (Bash/Python) experience.
* Network device (e.g., Cisco, Dell, Juniper, etc.) experience.
* Experience with the installation, configuration, integration and management of routers, switches, load balancers, proxies, etc.
* Must have knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of IP and core IP technologies. Networking and Application protocols. Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
* Able to lift equipment over 50 lbs.
* Ability to acquire a Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain/pass a polygraph.Desired Qualifications: * Active CCNA/CCNP certification or several years of experience with Cisco Network devices.
* Network administrator experience.
* Proper handling of network hardware: running cables, cable crimping, usage of SFPs, and fiber networking standards.
* Advanced network protocols understanding.
* A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI and the ability to obtain/pass a polygraph.
Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
