Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located in Stuttgart Germany (SOCAF) and requires TESA approval. 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Systems Engineers perform tier three systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s software and hardware, Systems Engineers need advanced analytical, troubleshooting and design skills. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users also is essential. Systems Engineers must be familiar with the systems engineering process and data as a fundamental building block for performance improvement. Participation in working groups, design reviews and system tests are required. This position will help generate assessments, as well as develop and implement actionable recommendations based on reviews. Systems Engineers require extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide senior technical implementation for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management (MECM) capabilities within an Enterprise strategy
  • Identify, assess, and resolve MECM-related services, such as Operating System Deployment (OSD) task sequences, driver packages, and software deployment
  • Support, update, and troubleshoot Enterprise-provided offline/stand-alone OSD image capability
  • Support customer Asset Management team through MECM and Active Directory queries & reports, using MECM Reporting Services, PowerShell, and other provided tools
  • Support customer Endpoint Protection & Compliance team through MECM and other provided tools to automate and report on OS patching, security configuration implementation, and vulnerability mitigation
  • Carry an advanced understanding of Windows Active Directory functionality and industry best practices
  • Configure and support Group Policy implementation to drive endpoint management and user experience
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for a team of Associate-level customer support technicians
  • Provide alternate engineering support to the customer’s local services cluster (VMWare & NetAPP-based)
  • Support an enterprise-wide strategy for BitLocker and Microsoft BitLocker Administration & Monitoring (MBAM) implementation and maintenance
  • Be willing to familiarize with and support Lexmark MarkVision multi-function printer endpoint management platform
  • Providing planning and engineering guidance to IT infrastructure planners
  • Creating, designing, or scripting tools and playbooks that can automate configuration and deployment processes
  • Reviewing, editing, publishing, and maintaining documentation of engineering and design activities in agreed upon and accepted industry standard format
  • Identifying and recommending tools and processes to improve reliability of desired endpoint configuration
  • Providing technical or procedural recommendations to address long-term/chronic problem resolution
  • Assisting with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required
  • May require temporary shift work to support the USSOCOM mission 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD TS or above clearance is required
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II AND MCSE related to candidate’s work area OR Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate’s work area OR Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administration Expert certifications required

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program
  • Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
