Peraton is seeking a software tester who will work as part of an Agile development team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navys Tomahawk Missile program. This position will be located in Santa Clara, CA.

The primary focus of your test role on the Agile development team is to understand the new system behavior implemented by your team and write/execute manual tests that exercise the new behavior to ensure the implementation meets the requirements and user story acceptance criteria. You may be able to do initial testing in an unclassified environment and you will conduct final testing in the classified lab environment at the Santa Clara, CA facility. Some remote work is possible; however, you must be available to work in the Santa Clara office as needed for testing and team meetings.

What you'll do:

• Learn TMPC system behavior, program processes and procedures
• Develop and execute manual tests following team/project conventions to verify new system capabilities and bug fixes based on system change definitions
• Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions
• Understand TMPC hardware configurations and applications/capabilities for each configuration
• Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks
• Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)
• Develop and execute automated tests in support of an Agile development team
• Participate in formal demonstrations with the customer at the Santa Clara facility.

What you'll need:

• Education: 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
• Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
• Strong writing skills and be able to work within a collaborative team environment
• Attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, including Azure DevOps (TFS)

Desired skills:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance preferred
• Software background with an understating of software development life-cycle methodologies, including Agile
• Familiarity with scripting languages or automated test tools (e.g., Appium / Python)
