Responsibilities:

Peraton is seeking a Sr.Systems Integration and Test Engineer on our Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract for our NASA customer, to support integration and test activities for the NASA Artemis Launch Control Systems (LCS) Project. This position will offer ability for remote telework but will require up to 20% travel to work onsite at the Wallops Island, VA; Bermuda; and Florida (Cape Canaveral and New Smyrna Beach) facilities during integration and test events, through December of 2025, based on the Artemis moon launch mission schedule.

As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASAs worldwide satellite communication networks. Join the SENSE team to support NASA programs that integrate with state-of-the-art RF satellite ground communications systems and technologies. In this position, you will become part of NASAs return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that builds and ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements.

As a Systems Integration and Test Engineer, you will have a particular focus on data services management, monitor and control, data processing, and data delivery. You will work with systems engineers, solutions architects and programmers to ensure applications and systems interoperate to deliver end-to-end mission solutions.?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform system level software/hardware integration and test (I&T) activities at customer sites ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. This includes the I&T of COTS-based systems and custom software, from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation, and commissioning of the completed system into operations.
  • Support the analysis, design, test, and evaluation of network systems such as satellite networks, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other data communications systems.
  • Support System Design and Requirements Analysis and prepare content for project reviews (ie PDR, CDR, TRRs, SARs, ORRs)
  • Participates in reviews of systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirements compliance through verification and validation.
  • Develop test and integration plans and procedures. Conduct tests as the Test Conductor and conduct test debriefs, generate Quick Look Reports, Discrepancy Reports, and Final Test Reports
  • Evaluates discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline and 8-10 years of related engineering experience; or a MS degree and 6 - 8 years of related experience; without a degree, 12 years of specialized experience within a military-based / civilian-based satellite telecommunications environment may be considered
  • Experience working Test & Evaluation & Integration on space-related (space communications, ground systems networks, software, hardware system) projects
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles; specifications and testing
  • Extensive experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance, which requires a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time to Wallops Island, VA; Bermuda; and Florida (Cape Canaveral and New Smyrna Beach) facilities to support integration and test activities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • An active DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience developing tests scripts using any of: Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc.
  • Proficiency/familiarity in test and measurement of RF communications parameters.
  • Experience working for NASA
  • Familiar with working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster solid relationships with coworkers and vendors
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization

Target Salary Range:
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
