JOB DESCRIPTION

The UAS Program Manager assumes overall responsibility for the performance, management, and supervision of the UAV Department, its personnel, and assigned projects. 

•Manages and supervises a team responsible for the planning, design, execution, monitoring and performance of UAV Survey projects. 
•Supports executive management by reporting progress through informal and formal presentations and discussions regarding team KPIs, performance and goals. 
•Shares knowledge, communicate and foster a positive relationship with other department managers to ensure a complete and professional product is provided to our clients.
•Participates on bid and proposal activities. Ensure that the customer needs are met and that the technical and costing documents are prepared in a timely manner
•Manages the day-to-day execution of multiple projects to satisfy cost, schedule, and technical performance.
•Recognizes project scope change and communicate the cost, schedule, and technical execution impacts with customer and management.
•Performs business development tasks and identifies future opportunities
•Ensures all department projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
•Works well with others; subordinates, peers, executives, and clients.
•On occasion you may be responsible for planning and flying automated missions to gather imagery for orthographic maps, Lidar, or Inspection projects.
•Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policy, and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
•May develop and verify procedures for use with new aircraft features and participate in the development of operational and safety procedures and training.
•Coach and mentor department team members.
•Will be trained in and responsible for managing BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) missions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

•Bachelor's degree in Survey, Geospatial, or a related field is preferred, and/or 5 years of relevant UAS/Survey experience is required.
•At least 3 years of management/leadership experience.
•Recent experience as an UAS Project Manager or Coordinator is a plus.
•Proficient with MS Office tools is required.
•Experience with Multi-Rotor, Fixed Wing, and/or VTOL platforms is required.
•A good working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap, Pix4D, Trimble Business Center, Civl3D, and LiDAR Processing and Analysis tools is necessary.
•FAA Part 107 certification – required.
•A minimum of 500 hours total flight time.
•100 hours of which must be on larger platforms (M600 and similar)
•Experience with both manual flight and automated mapping missions
•Strong competence in estimating, bidding as well as construction processes, methods, and materials.
•Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative, problem-solving environment alongside demonstrated critical thinking skills.
•Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
•Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to clients’ technical and business needs.
•Must be willing to travel ( /-20%) as required by projects and assignments.
