OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Sales Operations Manager to join our growing team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for supporting sales execution excellence for both headquarters and in store selling activities. This role will manage retail business activities from development to implementation to achieve strategic business objectives through broker partners. This role also supports the sales team with backroom operational efficiencies working closely with internal departments such as finance and supply chain that drive executional effectiveness.
Additional responsibilities include:

  • Support Sales and Retail businesses to ensure clear visibility on how brands and plans translate in the marketplace
  • Manage sales-related systems, databases, and associated processes and trains sales teams to ensure they optimize available resources
  • Provide solution recommendations to assist internal teams with resolving issues with forecast, product availability, opportunity assessment and allocations
  • Ensure tools available including fact-based information and sales literature that can be used by retail brokers in business development efforts
  • Conduct weekly/monthly analytics on sales KPI’s to track progress against sales initiatives, targets, and budgets
  • Manages retail RTM tactics, budget tracking, broker performance, execution, and results
  • Effectively manage in-store execution with brokers by providing product education, DSMP objectives by customer, sales resources such as POS and selling stories.
  • Utilize cross-functional teams, internal/external (marketing, supply chain, SLT, broker agencies) to develop actionable plans with retail for special projects based on key market or account opportunities
  • Develop, execute, and track account-specific retail strategies (i.e., new item blitzes, promotions, and resets) to track progress against retail business targets
  • Communicate product updates (shortages, expected delivery dates, price changes, etc.) to ensure Sales teams can provide prompt updates to their partners and build strong selling partnerships

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in operations management and / or retail execution required.
  • Understanding of category and syndicated data analysis; interpreting and drawing accurate conclusions (IRI, Neilson, and Retail Link)
  • Understanding of SAP, TPM reporting, BI reporting and IRI data
  • Ability to achieve results with and through other departments who do not report directly to this position
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment
  • Ability to create business strategic plans using P&L/budget skills
  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively communicate key tactics and products that achieve the strategic objectives of brand and the business channels
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
  • Ability to analyze computer reports on sales data, forecasts, and budgets
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data and handle complex situations in a cross functional environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders of varying backgrounds.
