Performance Foodservice is Hiring a Transportation Manager Near Portland, OR

Company Description
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.
Job Description
We are looking for a Transportation Manager to join our team!
The person in this position will manage all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, unloading, fleet maintenance, customer/driver relationships, and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Operating Company (OpCo) compliance.
Below is a summary of duties:
  • Involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance
  • Managing Transportation Supervisors
  • Monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares annual transportation operating budget; performs cost analyses (e.g., truck leases, fuel consumption, etc.) and coordinates financial reporting.
  • Oversees day-to-day administration of delivery function
  • Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
4 years transportation experience including in-depth
knowledge of DOT regulations, experience with computerized fleet management systems, and team lead or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business management, logistics or related field
