We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery Driver/Shop Technician to join our team.
As a Delivery Driver/Shop Technician, you will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of fire and life safety equipment, as well as performing maintenance and repairs on equipment in our shop. This role requires a combination of driving, technical skills, and a commitment to safety standards.
In this role you will:
Delivery Driver Duties
Safely operate company vehicles to deliver fire and life safety equipment to various locations from throughout Eastern Washington and Boise, Idaho.
Load and unload equipment, ensuring items are secure and protected during transit.
Plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency.
Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures and documentation upon delivery.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and company policies during deliveries.
Work with both field & office personnel to ensure fulfillment of technician material needs.
Warehouse Duties
Inventory and warehouse management, purchasing, procurement experience, preferred.
Process various inventory transactions: Track and transfer items in inventory system, process tech requests for inventory and receive incoming Purchase Orders
Operate forklift (willing to train)
Manage multiple requests at one time in an efficient and timely manner is important in this position.
Improve the overall efficiency of the warehouse processes and have a continuous process-improvement mindset geared towards overcoming inventory issues.
Qualifications:
1 plus years of driving experience in a commercial environment.
Experience in the fire and life safety industry preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to spend 1 to 2 nights overnight stay in various cities/towns throughout Eastern Washington and Boise, Idaho.
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of maintenance procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Excellent customer service skills.
Dependable, reliable and able to work independently and within a team. Positive attitude with good work ethic.
Good communication (written/verbal), organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication), attention-to-detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Ability to drive and work in a variety of environments and weather, including outdoor and indoor settings.
