JOB TITLE: COMPUTER SCIENCE DISCOVERIES TEACHER

Perquimans County Middle School

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

• To plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Must hold or be able to obtain NC Professional Educator’s License in one of the following areas:

• Business, Finance, & IT (760)
• Marketing (730)
• Technology (820)
• Trade and Industrial (740 “A” level)

• General computer science background, including programming, cybersecurity, Internet and networking knowledge.
• Formal coursework in Computer Science or experience with a programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or any of the block-based languages.
• Interest in technology and computing innovations.

• Experience working with middle school students.

REPORTS TO: Principal

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The teacher is expected to comply with established laws, policies, rules, regulations and duties as prescribed by the principal or immediate supervisor.
• The teacher is responsible for planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans and instructional activities that facilitates active learning for students.
• The teacher carries out non-instructional duties as assigned to ensure student safety outside the classroom.
• The teacher may be required to perform other duties as prescribed by the teacher’s supervisor or superintendent.
