FORKLIFT MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN
Performs detailed inspections/PMs which include checking for fluid leaks, loose hardware, lubricating chains, fluid levels in electric lifts.
Performs wheel inspections, replaces wheels, tires, bearing etc. as needed.
Ensures safety equipment is functioning properly.
Repairs and replaces defective parts.
Runs equipment after repair to ensure performance and safety standards are met.
Completes all the necessary paperwork.
Order all necessary parts.
Understands proper lockout/tag out procedures.
Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
Maintains good housekeeping levels in the Maintenance department and the work area.
Performs activities in accordance with the procedures outlined in the work instructions.
Track repairs using Google Sheets
Perform various other General Maintenance duties which include but not limited to- conveyor repairs/PMs, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, construction, painting, etc.
Workload is expected to be primarily Forklift Tech but will assist when needed as General Maintenance
Requirements
Verifiable experience working on electric lifts(preferably Crown)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Should have strong troubleshooting skills, especially electrical
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
Able to do heavy lifting as times, work in awkward positions, work at elevated heights, work in hot/cold temps inside and outside
Must be self motivated and able to work independently
