Billing and Collection Specialist
The ideal candidate will have great communication, strong people skills and a positive attitude. They will be a collaborative team player who is solution-oriented, able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and have a high sense of urgency.
Multi-tasking is essential in this role as billing representatives make a real difference to their customers and the company. In this role, you will learn how to provide over-the-phone account and payment support services.
This position is in-person
Schedule: M-F 8 am - 5 pm
Pay: $14.50-16/hr depending on experience
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of incoming calls
- Assist customers who have billing inquires and/or are calling to make a payment/update payment method
- Assist with questions related to price increases
- Educate customer on past due balances and set up payment arrangements as needed
- Apply credits to customer accounts as needed
- Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
- Assist with other billing department duties
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No experience required, but previous collections experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
