Roles & Responsibilities
- Must collaborate with application developers and business analysts to design and implement efficient database structures.
- Create and maintain logical and physical data models.
- Normalize data to minimize redundancy and improve query performance.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
- Ensure efficient data manipulation operations (inserts, updates, deletes).
- Implement stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
- Design and create database objects (tables, indexes, views, etc.) based on business requirements.
- Define constraints, relationships, and data integrity rules.
- Optimize schema design for scalability and performance.
- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query execution plans.
- Manage security, access controls, and user permissions.
- Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures are in place.
- Required 9 years of experience as an SQL Server DBA or similar role.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar).
- Strong understanding of DML (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) and DDL (CREATE, ALTER, DROP) statements.
- Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and query optimization techniques.
- Certifications such as MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics are a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
