Description
The Insurance Follow-Up Specialist I, is responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve billing issues and secure appropriate reimbursement in a timely manner.
This individual identifies and analyzes denials and payment variances and enacts corrective measures as needed to effectively communicate and resolve payer errors.
Preferred Education :
High School diploma or College degree preferred.
Required Technical Skills :
Meditech, Microsoft Office, Computer Keyboarding and Medical Terminology
Preferred Licensure / Registration / Certification :
Possession and maintenance of one of the following professional certifications : Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) issued by the Healthcare Finance Management Association (HFMA) or Certified Patient Account Manager (CPAM) or Certified Clinic Account Manager (CCAM) certifications issued by the American Association Of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM);
Medical Group Management Association (MGMA)
Required Experience :
1-3 years in customer service or healthcare-related setting required
