The licensed and credentialed Nurse Practitioner provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow-up under the supervision of one or more Physicians in the Peterson Medical Associates. The Nurse Practitioner provides age and specialty appropriate medical care at the level of training achieved.

Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education:
MSN required/Family Nurse Practitioner Certification

Required Technical Skills:
Ability to work in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff; ability to cope with disruptions to daily work schedule; computer literacy and familiarity with operation of basic office equipment; must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people; knowledge of disease processes, excellent critical thinking skills; ability to read, analyze and comprehend complex clinical and visit coding and apply such to level of care criteria.

Preferred Technical Skills:
Experience with Greenway and/or other electronic health record software preferred. Spanish speaking preferred. Experience in chronic disease management and wellness care.

Required Experience:
Three years clinical experience required.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in Medical Office Setting including experience in Internal Medicine preferred

Required Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Current licensure in Texas as a RN with recognition as an Advance Practice Nurse

Preferred Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Certification in specialty area
