Petroplan is Hiring a Director of Maintenance Near Houston, TX

Summary:

Petroplan is currently recruiting for a seasoned and highly effective senior professional to join our LNG client as the Director of Maintenance.

The ideal candidate in this position will oversee all equipment maintenance at our client's facility, ensuring adherence to customer delivery and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

**This position will initially be location in Houston, Texas and subsequently relocate to the project site while requiring consistent travel.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 15 years of combined maintenance and plant engineering experience in LNG terminals and/or petrochemical/gas sectors.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in maintenance and engineering.
  • Extensive experience in LNG liquefaction facilities is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems in LNG facilities and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience with the implementation or supervision of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Broad expertise in budgeting, planning, and scheduling maintenance tasks.
  • High level of knowledge in HSE practices.
  • Excellent personnel management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficient computer and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and alignment with business goals, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) preferred.
  • Ability to assist in developing and evaluating employee training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and maximize team potential.
  • Ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Response management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all plant maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage maintenance activities for power, process, and marine areas.
  • Establish the maintenance department from the ground up.
  • Develop and achieve maintenance targets on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
  • Prepare and control the annual maintenance budget.
  • Maintain an up-to-date predictive maintenance program for plant equipment.
  • Develop and approve maintenance-related contracts and procure necessary equipment and warranty terms.
  • Enhance plant equipment and facilities using advanced engineering techniques to improve reliability and control corrosion.
  • Ensure timely maintenance planning, scheduling, certification, and inspection activities, including condition monitoring.
  • Manage work scopes for the Ready for Operations Plan (RFO) to meet project milestones, including setting up the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ordering operating and capital spares, and hiring and training maintenance staff.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a highly qualified maintenance team.
  • Ensure staff competency in maintaining the plant and identify ongoing training needs.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization, including senior management and various functional disciplines.
  • Advise the management team on key operations and maintenance risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Promote adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and guidelines.
