We are looking for an MDS coordinator for this skilled nursing home that serves both an active sub-acute and LTC population. This position would be the department manager and would supervise and oversee management of the department and any other MDS staff members as needed.. This position requires experience in clinical reimbursement as it relates to MDS completion, accuracy and transmission. Good knowledge of the MDS, RAI process and an understanding of Medicare regulations with regards to PDPM, OBRA as well as Medicaid CMI. Conducts education on the RAI process for employees involved in the MDS process. The coordinator will also be responsible for the overall PDPM process and meetings as well as completing assessments, CAA’s, care plans and assisting to ensure correct coding for the QMs as well as ensuring timeliness, accuracy and transmission of the department MDS’s.
Must be a licensed RN in the State of North Carolina.

· Responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring the center stays in compliance with current professional practice standards, physician’s orders, company policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations
· Develop a care plan that has long-term and short-term goals for improvements
· Conduct meetings with multidisciplinary treatment teams, caretakers, and families
Qualifications for a MDS Coordinator:
· Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse LPN or Registered Nurse RN licensure in the state of practice required
· Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs, LTC payer systems, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA), the RAI process, and the MDS process preferred OR prior nursing in a long-term care facility.
