Pfeifer Structures America LLC is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Dallas, TX

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management, other staff and the PEO. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Liaise with PEO on payroll and HR matters, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and recruitment/employment. 
Primary Duties
  • Assist employees and managers with various HR-related needs and questions.
  • Be a steward of the company culture. Help maintain and support our values of customer service and ethical business practices.
  • Conduct recruitment for all exempt and nonexempt personnel (job posting, screening, interviewing). Track and update candidate status in applicant tracking system to ensure compliance with EEO/AAP requirements. Use/partner with recruiters and temporary agencies as needed.
  • Perform onboarding for all new hires through PEO platform. Initiate background checks, drug tests, registration enrollment in payroll system, IT needs, credit card, etc.)
  • Perform off-boarding (final pay, PTO, company property return, IT access).
  • Report and maintain all workers' compensation case files.
  • Partner with immigration attorney to facilitate the completion of work visa and permanent residency applications.
  • Support Affirmative Action Plan administration, execution and reporting.
  • Active involvement in company safety program. Responsible for maintaining OSHA logs and annual posting/reporting.
  • Review hourly and salary payrolls before submission, ensuring all changes are communicated to the PEO (401k, salary/rates, etc.).
  • Prepare and report certified payroll and union fringe reports and fund pay cards, as needed.
  • 401k administration including 401k funding, testing, audits, amendments, maintenance, etc.
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assist in internal investigations and inquiries as needed.
  • Involved in day-to-day customer service/employee relations functions. Responds to employee requests in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and three years of HR experience, or a master's degree in HR management and two years of experience in the HR field, or seven years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Construction, manufacturing, distribution or related industry experience required. 
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR (HRCI) certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll laws and regulation
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel)
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
  • Confidentiality and judgment
  • Strong math aptitude
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
