What You Will Achieve As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will play an important role in a high-energy protein purification research laboratory. You will be responsible for processing of mammalian- expressed recombinant protein modalities including, but not limited to, monoclonal antibodies using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment. You will also contribute to the group wide deliverables and be required to work on several projects simultaneously presenting results and updates at group meetings. Your significant experience of applying knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of the discipline will make you a critical member of the team. Your skill and knowledge will help in making decisions that require choosing among limited options. You are proactive in contributing to all team discussions and creating an environment of collaboration. It is your innovative scientific temperament that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe. How You Will Achieve It
Develop purification processes to enable manufacturability assessment of biotherapeutic candidates.
Deliver highly pure protein for in vitro and in vivo studies.
Independently perform and troubleshoot experiments using a wide range of preparative and analytical techniques.
Contribute to achievement of immediate work group goals and collaborate with other team members to meet project timelines.
Design, suggest and/or implement strategies to increase throughput and/or efficiency.
Qualifications Must-Have
Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline with 3 years of experience or a Master's Degree with 0-2 years of experience.
Experience in therapeutic protein discovery or biochemistry research.
Experience or knowledge in the operation of AKTA (LC) and Agilent (HPLC) chromatography systems.
Ability to learn new techniques quickly and follow established protocols with precision.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Computational skills using Microsoft Excel, Unicorn, Empower, Chem Station and other applications designed to collect, evaluate process, and manage bioprocess data.
Nice-to-Have
Experience in bioconjugation techniques.
Experience in molecular design.
Experience in automation using robotic liquid handlers and high-throughput screening techniques.
Working understanding of programming languages.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to bioprocessing.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
