Position Summary

Electric Operations Quality Control Leadership achieves safety, quality and data driven continuous improvement across Electric Operations program and designs, implements and change-manages strategic initiatives across Electric Operations while collaborating with distinct line of business leaders and their respective teams to ensure safe, high quality, compliant, and timely continuous improvement. Provides analytical rigor, defined methodologies and strategic program, project and process implementation and enhancement.

Reporting Relationship

The Director, Quality Management reports into the Sr. Director, Quality in the Electric Operations organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drives and executes organizational strategy into business plans and metrics to drive the accomplishment of goals and metrics. Oversees a comprehensive audit and assessment strategy that addresses both employee safety and public safety.
  • Oversees quality programs, audit activities, and development of policies, processes, procedures, training, and communications to improve compliance.
  • Drives the achievement of safety, quality, productivity, and organizational goals for the Quality Control Organization. Ensures contract work is completed within Company and Regulatory safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Ensures records are traceable, verifiable, and complete by establishing controls and verification, and projects assigned are completed by qualified staff to support the safe and timely reporting of projects.
  • Accountable for building and maintaining operational and controls systems to provide cost, schedule, resources visibility and control on all projects, mitigate risks and maximize safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Leads and drives special projects to improve overall business results based on steady state and urgent needs of the business with the goal of improving safety, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with all key stakeholders including partners performing the work. Routinely interfaces with key leadership across lines of business to develop effective working relationships and ensure overall business needs are met, and solicits feedback, collaborates, and influences to develop solutions.
  • Routinely establishes strategic partnerships with leaders across the enterprise to maximize safety, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Champions effective regulatory and legislative policies. Partners with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to improve overall business results.
  • Manages a large geographically dispersed team to accomplish results through effective recruitment, selection, training, and development.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $163,000

Bay Area Maximum: $277,000

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction management or other job-related degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in the utility industry or other construction-related field
  • 5 years management of direct reports experience
  • Experience working in a unionized environment

Desired

  • Technical and Project Management Certifications relevant to utility and or energy industry.
  • 5 years of experience in Electric utility maintenance, Forestry Management, and quality control organization
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with building and driving performance of Quality Management systems
  • Experience Performing the work within the Quality Control organization
  • Experience with Quality Programs
  • Experience with forestry work, working closely with tree removal operations, or other relevant operations
