Job PurposeReporting to the Financial Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and assisting with month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, a strong affinity to systems and automation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • General Ledger Prepare and record journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Invoicing Generate and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Cash Application Process customer payments and apply them accurately to customer accounts in the accounting system.
  • Inter company billings, transactions, and reconciliation
  • Month-End Close Execute day-to-day accounting activities of the Company, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Account Reconciliations Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, while leveraging ERP system functionality to its fullest extent.
  • Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Compliance Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, including internal control requirements and industry-specific regulations. Support internal risk compliance by properly performing assigned internal controls.
  • Audit Support Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Process Improvements
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and finance operations, implementing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with the coordination of the development, design and implementation of consistent accounting and finance processes and procedures.
  • Successfully participate in an implementation/upgrade of the ERP system [MC Dynamics Business Central]
  • Ad-Hoc Projects/Other Duties Participate in ad-hoc projects and analyses as required by management and perform other related duties as assigned.
Education & Professional Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of Accounting principles and practices.
  • Advanced level proficiency with MS Office, and accounting-related software.
  • ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central strongly preferred)
  • Experience with SAP CONCUR travel expense management system desirable, but not a must
  • Ability to identify and implement process and procedure improvements.
