DefinitionThe Maintenance Lead's primary responsibility is to be directly involved in maintaining and repairing all watercrafts, equipment, and ensure that all is safe to operate. The Maintenance Lead must work closely with the Marina to meet their watercraft rental needs by repairing and maintaining various equipment including, but not limited to, SeaDoos, pontoons, and wakeboats. The Mechanic also must maintain a clean area, storage rooms, organized preventive maintenance program and places safety procedures as a top priority.
Essential Job Functions
  • Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of the equipment with the Marina Management.
  • Inspect diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects/failures in many watercrafts
  • Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Set up and modify equipment as needed.
  • Keep maintenance equipment serviced and inspected and perform related tasks as required.
  • Clean, lubricate, protect and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment for the Marina. To see that all tools used are returned to the tool storage and secured properly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and information (i.e., Lockout Tagout, MSDS). Ability to write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence.
  • Assist in maintaining an efficient inventory of high use parts, supplies, filters, oil, batteries, and more required to maintain and operate the rental equipment.
  • Monitor and manage repair related expenses, including cost control, and procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of work orders, repairs and preventive maintenance performed, including labor hours, parts and supplies used.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver's license or CDL, meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the Employer's insurance carrier and must immediately report any change in status of the license to the Employer.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and/or background check per current employment policy.
  • Working knowledge of the general operation, servicing, and repair of watercrafts
  • Mechanical ability to use common mechanical tools
  • Ability to sharpen cutting mechanisms to factory specifications
Additional Requirements
  • High degree of good common sense and basic math skills.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills and able to follow instructions, in English is required; bilingual is valued.
  • Adhering to proper recycling and/or disposal of various oil, compounds and other fluids
  • Must have present a clean and pleasant overall appearance in front of members and guests
