Phipps Houses is looking for a bright, energetic Assistant Superintendent for our newest affordable housing development, Atlantic Chestnut in East New York, Brooklyn . The site is comprised of 4.5 acres with three interconnected, mixed-use buildings. The development will offer 1,200 units of affordable housing, encourage economic development, create pedestrian-friendly streets, and invest in community resources. The first phase of this project is scheduled to open in February 2024 and will have a total of 403 residential units.

Salary for this role is 65k.

This is a Non-live in Assistant Superintendent position and role requires evening and after-hours coverage as directed by the Superintendent and management. Must be able to respond to calls within 20-30 minutes of zipcode 11208.

Assistant Super would work and 8-hour shift, and if there happens to be an emergency, on call Assistant Super is required to return back to the site, both supers work out a schedule as to what days are covered.

Qualifications: 

• Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, or a GED with two to three years’ experience. 
• Candidates MUST have the following current certifications: S13 Standpipe, and S12 Fire Sprinkler. Candidates must be able to present these prior to the interview process.
• Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Must have strong problem solving skills.
• Must have superior customer service skills. Must be proficient at safety using tools associated with the job.
• Has knowledge of building codes and safety standards as set forth by the state and federal governments.
• Must be able to walk up and down stairs with tools and equipment. Must be flexible in order to address emergencies.
