SUBSIDIARY: The Center for Autism (CFA)

PROGRAMS: Outpatient Therapy

LOCATIONS:

The Therapist will split their time between the following CFA worksites.

  • 4601 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139
  • 2801 Grant Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Outpatient/Intake Therapist is responsible for gathering information on clients to determine a provisional diagnosis and recommend an appropriate level of care pertaining to the client’s treatment needs. The Therapist is responsible for writing a comprehensive report following any intake interviews that will be incorporated into the individual’s evaluation. In addition, individual, family, and group therapy services may be provided in accordance with the mission and philosophy of The Center for Autism. The Outpatient/Intake Therapist reports to the Outpatient Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions for clients engaged in outpatient therapy.
  • Meet with the client and responsible guardian (if the client is a minor) to conduct and complete a Level of Care Assessment, if necessary.
  • Meet with the client and family to gather history, current concerns, medical information, other service provider information, previous evaluations, school information, etc.
  • Review all information gathered, including previous evaluations, IEPs, and treatment plans to complete the intake process.
  • Complete and submit all billing information for Level of Care Assessments, intake sessions, and therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with members of the identified client’s treatment team.
  • Complete administrative tasks on an as-needed basis, as assigned by the Outpatient Director.
  • Provide training to interns and new staff, as assigned by the Outpatient Director.
  • Provide ongoing supervision to interns and/or fee-for-service staff, as assigned by the Outpatient Director.
  • Perform other job-related duties in area of responsibility as assigned.

LANGUAGE: Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required

EDUCATION: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an area related to human services such as social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience providing direct care to children, adolescents, and/or young adults with autism

LICENSURE (strongly preferred): Clinical mental health licensure in Pennsylvania as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift clients and supplies
  • Ability to play on the floor and run with/after clients
  • Ability to access all parts of the service area of The Center for Autism
  • Access to personal transportation

OTHER: Act 33 & 34 clearance

SALARY GRADE: 18
