Phoenix Community Development Services mission of “Turning Lives Around” reflects our long history of serving populations of individuals who have limited resources and support systems, including those have been homeless or who are currently facing homelessness who have mental health challenges and face financial burdens such as extremely low to zero income. Phoenix CDS is committed to providing comprehensive, supportive services to our most vulnerable citizens who face great challenges. Our primary goal is to end homelessness and provide the individuals, families and veterans we serve with a warm, safe place to live independently – and away from the dangers of the streets. We work with them to set and achieve goals, make healthy life choices, find employment, build skills, and become stable, self-sufficient members of society.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Human Resources Position is dedicated to empowering and supporting staff to fulfill the organization’s mission of “Turning Lives Around.” The position is responsible for administering and delivering all aspects of employee entry/on boarding, benefit education, selection, and processing, and maintaining personnel files from entry to exit. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and mission-driven workplace environment where every employee is valued and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • 2 years of experience in human resources roles, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization (Required)
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • The position has an office space at the Administrative Offices but may be required to travel to other organizational locations
  • Expect to interact with staff and consumers to provide activities related to work such as conducting meetings
  • May Require prolonged sitting or standing
  • May require periodic prolonged or overnight travel.
  • Requires ability to work in noisy and crowded environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
