Position: Quality Manager
Job Summary:
Provide management oversight for Quality personnel and programs. Lead quality improvement projects and initiatives in a glass manufacturing environment. Responsible for the daily management of the production Quality team tasked with ensuring processes meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepares reports, tables and charts on inspections and quality performance.
2. Responsible for assuring customer requirements through understanding customer needs and expectations.
3. Direct the activities of Quality Control personnel. This will include Auditors, QC’s, Packers, and others as required.
4. Supports and hires staff, as needed.
5. Maintains appropriate records of quality inspections and testing performed by personnel.
6. Provides the necessary floor presence to assure Phoenix is in compliance with our procedures.
7. Maintains cooperation and communication between all departments and shifts.
8. Responsible for Managing the Plant SPC (Statistical Process Control) program including training and analysis.
9. Responsible for ensuring the processes needed for the quality management system (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained.
10. Responsible authority to schedule internal audits to determine the implementation and effectiveness of the plant's QMS.
11. Ensures effective corrective action on internal, customer and Registrar audit nonconformities are verified and effective.
12. Promotes the importance of meeting customer requirements throughout the organization.
13. Responsible authority for making improvements in the QMS.
14. Supervises the investigation of all customer complaints to determine the source and extent of nonconforming conditions, initiates corrective actions, and closes out complaints.
15. Initiates Corrective Action Requests on nonconforming conditions as required.
16. Provides an analysis of customer complaints at management review meetings.
17. Establishes and maintains effective procedures for product traceability and controlling nonconforming products.
18. Prepares reports, tables and charts on inspections and quality performance.
19. Responsible for plant production and quality area calibration programs.
20. Responsible for customer product certifications.
21. Assure compliance with ISO 9001:2015
22. Responsible for assisting the Plant Manager with other assigned duties as required.
Education/Experience:
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering, Statistics, Sciences, or other related field from an accredited college.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of and experience with quality systems, sampling plans, inspection methods.
4. ISO-9001 knowledge preferred.
5. Six Sigma and SPC knowledge preferred.
6. Bi-lingual: English and Spanish is highly preferred
Technical:
1. Must have strong analytical skills and be familiar with problem solving tools.
2. Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Access.
3. Must have background in ISO environment and practices.
Physical:
1. Ability to safely conduct themselves in a factory setting
2. Able to stand, walk, talk and provide training to individuals or groups
3. Able to work in warm environments up to 120°F
4. Able to lift and move up to 25lbs and up to 40 lbs occasionally
Other Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
2. Solid communication and interpersonal skills
