SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The People Business Partner (PBP) works in a variety of roles associated with providing employee services. The PBP must be creative, personally motivated, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The PBP must possess a strong strategic focus to provide timely implementation of operational deliverables. This position serves as a Human Resources (HR) point of contact for administrative actions on a daily basis for employees in all Phoenix locations. The PBP must deliver quality employee services and monitor employee ‘customer’ satisfaction. The PBP will also utilize their strong administrative skills to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations. The PBP must build and maintain effective working relationships with business unit leaders, management, peers, and all employees. This position is on-site and located in Bayou Vista, LA; Largo, MD; or Chesapeake, VA, and reports to the HR Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works collaboratively with HR team member and provides regular updates to ensure continuity of services.
  • Manages HR administrative tasks, including employee records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Promotes a transparent workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Provides guidance and support on employee lifecycle events, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Contributes to the successful implementation of HR programs including proposal preparation.
  • Acts as back-up for the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, scheduling phone screens and on-site interviews, conducting background and reference checks, and maintaining candidate actions in the applicant tracking system, ADP Workforce Now (ADPWFN).
  • Provides support as a liaison for administrative operations and employee inquiries to promote positive employee relations.
  • Ensures timely submission of data as needed to payroll.
  • Takes responsibility for tracking and reconciling HR invoices monthly or as necessary.
  • Conducts monthly audits of census reports to address any concerns.
  • Assists in facilitating benefit orientations and open enrollment presentations.
  • Gathers information annually regarding the preparation of Annual Reporting (AAP, EE01, Vets 100, 5500s).
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of HR training sessions (i.e., Ethics, Harassment, etc.).
  • Complies with established Phoenix quality management system (QMS) processes and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or five plus years of experience providing HR support, with a focus on employee relations and business partnering.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices and employment laws.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance HR knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Phoenix’s service industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of ADPWFN a plus.
  • Current knowledge of benefits programs regarding health, disability, and retirement with an understanding of ERISA and ACA.
  • Strong people skills to work and communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multi-task daily.
  • High emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate closely with the HR Manager to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Operational excellence, including the ability to deliver and improve upon strong People processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and verbal) skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background check, as required.
  • Some travel may be required.
