Job Description: Registered Nurse

Job Summary: A Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about various health conditions, and provides advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. The RN is responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:
• Perform physical exams and health histories.
• Provide direct patient care including administering medications, treatments, and procedures.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Operate medical equipment and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Care Coordination:
• Coordinate patient care plans with healthcare team members.
• Communicate with doctors, patients, and family members about patient status and treatment plans.
• Discharge patients and provide discharge planning and instructions.
• Education:
• Educate patients and families on managing illnesses or injuries.
• Provide information on preventative care, nutrition, and wellness.
• Support patients in understanding and managing chronic conditions.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely patient records.
• Document patient care services and communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety standards.
• Follow infection control procedures.
• Ensure proper operation of medical equipment by performing regular checks.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in continuing education activities and professional organizations.
• Stay updated with current nursing practices and standards.
• Mentor and train junior nursing staff and nursing students.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Experience: Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on the unit.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Hospital, clinic, or other healthcare settings.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequent walking, standing, and stooping.
• Schedule: May include weekends, holidays, and night shifts. On-call duties may be required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
